Welcome to the GADA organization and website!

 

I am excited for the opportunity to serve the Georgia assessment community as the GADA president this year! I joined GADA in fall of 2014, and since that time, I have come to respect and appreciate the community and support that GADA members offer each other. We have learned together, sometimes groaned together, but ultimately, have solved problems together!

 

For those of you who have been in the assessment world over the past decade, you will remember the great work that happened across the state to prepare future teachers not just for the classroom, but to shine on state assessments like edTPA. You will recall the collaboration that resulted in the validation of CAPS (formerly known as InternKeys) and two unique, validated dispositions instruments.  You or your colleagues will have participated in task forces to write or validate countless state surveys or assessments.  You even worked remotely through a worldwide pandemic (and, some of us still do)!  And, through it all, you, GADA members, have asked hard questions, pivoted, flexed, revamped, and started over, depending on what the times required.

 

It is with this understanding – the understanding that together, we can traverse the ever-changing landscape of education and assessment – that I am looking forward to our year together!
